Congratulations on your peppers! I tried growing some stuff in pots on my patio. Turns out getting plants to grow in 100F shade is really hard. 🙁 Managed just a handful of tomatoes and some basil after a summers’ worth of work. And So. Many. Bugs. I was never particularly aware of the local insect population until they all tried to eat my tomato plants. Had better luck with herbs – nothing wanted to eat those.
Thank you! My saviour has been my southside facing kitchen window. It makes my greens very happy. I have few other herbs there as well and unfortunately those little plant flies do love them… They don’t really eat them but just fly around them and like the cround of the plant. I have a glass of fairy water near the plants to lure those suckers in, which keeps the bug amount tolerable… :’D
Jealous of your south-facing window. I miss my little herb garden – there was something rewarding about growing plants that gave back, watching them survive against all odds, having them greet you when you went out on the patio in the mornings. Very grounding.

Maybe fungus gnats? I used these on my house plants: . Basically like flypaper – little buggers are attracted to the bright yellow, get stuck and die. Gross, but worked really well.

I’ve been meaning to get these things but haven’t gotten around it yet!
There definitely is something special in taking care of house plants and seeing them grow and thrive after struggling through winter seasons.
Ugh, screwed up the HTML. Link still works, though. 😛
