It sounds kind of like Evangelion, but hopefully with a less controversial ending.
I mean, I liked the most recent ending (let’s call it the fifth one), but I acknowledge that makes me a little basic since that’s also the least ambiguous ending. I’ve certainly got nothing against the proper usage of untold backstory and multi-layered storytelling, but in the end there is a certain amount of stuff you need to wrap up in order to properly call it a conclusion.
