So, maybe this is a question more serious than normal, but is there no health coverage where Nikita in his dad live? As in a government-funded program like universal? Just curious since they’re having issues purchasing medication.
Anyway, I loooooove the lighting of this page. Even with your expressionistic style, it has a natural look to it. Well done!
Serious questions are always good. They have a kind of healthcare that covered the treatment at the hospital, where both of Nikitas parents were not so long ago and a certain amount of the medication costs. However, they still have to scrap together a part of the money and that’s giving them problems. Also Nikitas parents had a pretty poor insurance plan which didn’t help. One would say they didn’t expect this to happen.
Thanks for kind and encouraging comments as usual, Ben!
Yes! I wanted to make these issues realistic and not completely ‘I pulled it out of my ass because I needed drama’ -random. Also I think no matter how good government and health care system a country has, there’s always be people who have fallen through the cracks. The situation where Nikitas family is at, is something I have heard and seen myself happening as well.
That makes sense though! Not only is it logical, it also adds to Nikita’s character of the loner. How much more lonely can you get than someone left behind by even the most supportive government programs?
